Pizza on Bread (Mini Pizzas)
Ingredients:
Sliced bread (whole wheat, white, or even a baguette)
Tomato sauce or pizza sauce
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings: pepperoni, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms, or cooked sausage (feel free to add veggies for a healthier twist)
Dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)
A drizzle of olive oil (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or set the toaster oven to the same temperature.
Prepare the bread: Lay out slices of bread (or small baguette pieces) on a baking sheet. You can use any type of bread — sandwich bread, French bread, or even bagels if you want a thicker crust.
Spread sauce: Spoon a little bit of tomato sauce onto each slice of bread and spread it evenly with a spoon or knife.
Add cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top of the sauce.
Top with toppings: Let the kids choose and add their favorite toppings — pepperoni, bell peppers, olives, or any veggies they like. It's a great way to get them involved!
Bake: Place the bread in the oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are crispy.
Optional: Drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil and sprinkle some dried oregano or Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
Serve: Let them cool for a minute before serving to avoid burning little mouths!
These Mini Pizzas on Bread are easy, customizable, and perfect for a fun snack or lunch.
Fruit Yogurt Popsicles for Kids
Ingredients:
1 cup Greek yogurt (or regular yogurt)
1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
1/2 cup pureed fruit (strawberries, blueberries, mango, or peaches work great) or fresh fruit chunks
Small popsicle molds (you can also use paper cups with wooden sticks)
Instructions:
Prepare the yogurt base: In a bowl, stir together the yogurt and honey (if using). Greek yogurt works well because it's thick and creamy, but regular yogurt will work too.
Add fruit: If using fruit puree, mix it into the yogurt for a swirled effect. Alternatively, you can just add small chunks of fresh fruit directly into the yogurt for a fun texture.
Fill molds: Spoon the yogurt mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a small gap at the top for the popsicle to expand as it freezes.
Insert sticks: If your molds don’t have sticks, you can insert wooden craft sticks or plastic spoons into the center of each mold.
Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer for at least 4 hours or overnight to set completely.
Serve: Once the popsicles are frozen, remove them from the molds. If they’re hard to remove, run warm water over the outside of the mold for a few seconds to loosen the popsicle.
These Frozen Yogurt Popsicles are a great way to get kids to enjoy a healthy snack, especially when made with fresh fruit. Plus, they're perfect for hot summer days!
Both of these snacks are easy for kids to help prepare, and they get to enjoy the tasty results afterward!
